Mechanical Insulation is very important for the integrity and upkeep of mechanical systems. Cascade Insulation Inc. specializes in thermal insulation and acoustic insulation, which are installed on piping and mechanical systems to achieve one or more of the following; energy savings, personnel protection, process control, condensation control, noise reduction and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

We work with both industrial and commercial facilities. Industrial facilities include power plants, oil refineries, manufacturing buildings, storage buildings, paper mills, pharmaceuticals, chemical plants, food processing plants, waste water and water treatment plants, petrochemical, auto manufacturing, and plastics manufacturing. In an industrial facility, insulation is required for systems that carry or store liquid, gas, air, or product in which the temperature of the substance being transferred or stored is impacted by the temperature of the ambient air. These systems must be insulated to maintain process temperatures for both cold and hot systems; to protect liquids from freezing; to provide burn protection for personnel from possible exposure to hot systems; and for sound attenuation. Commercial buildings include any facility that accepts the public or is used by a company for employees in a non-industrial or manufacturing setting. Commercial facilities include office buildings, schools, restaurants, hospitals, hotels, casinos, sports arenas, libraries, and dormitories. Systems that often require insulation in commercial buildings include all HVAC systems; pipe, duct, and equipment; hot and cold domestic plumbing pipe and equipment; roof drain pipe; emergency generator exhaust systems; and kitchen hood exhaust ductwork.

We provide asbestos, lead & mold testing and surveys conducted in compliance with AHARA standards, utilizing a certified NBLAP independent lab for testing results, to avoid any conflict of interest for our clients. Asbestos fibers are strong, durable, resist heat, acids, and friction, and are practically indestructible. Asbestos fibers have a tendency to break up easily in smaller and smaller microscopic tiny particles that simply float in air and stick to clothes and other surfaces. Because of these properties, asbestos was often combined with other materials for use in construction. Asbestos becomes a health hazard when these materials disintegrate, collapse, or are otherwise disturbed. Asbestos fibers are so tiny that they can be easily inhaled or swallowed without a person’s awareness. When asbestos materials are damaged, unseen fibers are released into the air, where they can stay suspended for a long time. Asbestos can then be inhaled and the fibers can be embedded deeply in the lungs. These fibers also settle on surfaces and clothing where they can be redistributed into the air by motion such as walking past a contaminated surface. Once an area or surface is contaminated with asbestos dust, special procedures and equipment are necessary to decontaminate that area or surface, as well as anything inside the area.
